K-12 International Integrated Elementary Education System with Chinese Characteristics

WFL Education builds a K-12 international integrated elementary education system with Chinese characteristics, which takes Chinese national curriculum as foundation and concept of international integrated fundamental education as guidance.
Schools adhere to the philosophy of 'Let the world be part of the school life, let the students embrace the world', cultivate students to be 'modern Chinese to going to the world'.

In 2021, the World Foreign Language Education Group established the Curriculum Resource Center, focusing on unit-based instructional design guided by core competencies, subject practice (experimental teaching), project-based learning, and interdisciplinary thematic learning. By leveraging unit-based learning case studies and instructional research projects, the center provides practical models and methods for transforming teaching approaches in schools. It further standardizes the fundamental requirements for curriculum development and implementation within the group, supports innovative curriculum development and distinctive program building, highlights the brand and strengths of the group’s curriculum, and promotes high-quality, in-depth school development.

We adhere to the diversified foreign language teaching model of “Strengthening English and Experimenting with Bilingualism, and Exploring Multilingualism”, prioritizing the cultivation of students’ practical and communicative abilities. We have created a foreign language specific characteristic teaching model with “activity- communication” as the core.

“4+1”curriculum system

WFL Education implements the “4+1” curriculum system for regular classes in primary schools. “4” is a “4-day” subject division teaching mode that implements the national curriculum in a school-based manner, intensifying subject knowledge and concepts. “1” is an “1-day” UOI course that emphasizes on the application of what students have learnt to cultivate students' innovation literacy and practical abilities.

Junior high school implements '4+1' curriculum as well, in addition to strengthening the national curriculum, we also focus on project-based learning to cultivate students' comprehensive competencies.

“3C”Integrated curriculum system

“3C”Integrated curriculum system

The 3C curriculum is specially tailored in terms of curriculum setting, space construction, team matching, teaching and learning evaluation, and contributes to the systematic construction of  curriculum blueprint. The research and development of the curriculum is based on the principles and approaches of 3C, namely Cross-Domain Integration, Cross-Culture Understanding and Cross-Time and Space Flying. WFL strives to inherit and develop the foreign language characteristics of WFL Education, and constantly enhance science and technology courses to imprint the foreign language and technology characteristics of WFL.

Schools take the national compulsory high school curriculum as foundation, IBDP and AP International courses as elective programs, helping studetns realizing their dreams of entering to a world-class university.

Schools pay great attention to the comprehensive development of students' qualities, aiming at the development of diverse abilities for the future to construct WFL specific curriculum with characteristics of academic, contemporary, diverse, harmonious, and practical.

Schools introduce the short-term overseas study program of WFL Springdale Preparatory School, allowing students to enjoy the immersive learning experiences of American classrooms and quickly adapt to the teaching methods of English and American style. Students who successfully complete the program can obtain both Chinese and American diplomas.

Centering on the educational philosophy of "Rooted in China, Eyes on the World", the school has restructured and elevated the original IB curriculum framework of original Springdale Preparatory School. Based on the integration of the advantages of both Chinese and American curriculum, with the IB curriculum as a bridge and special activity courses as the extension, it further consolidates the foundation of basic subjects, stimulates their potential, and enhances their strengths under the premise of comprehensive and individualized development of students. The nine basic course sections and specialized personal projects lay the groundwork for students' college planning and career development.
