Shanghai World Foreign Language Early Childhood Development Center respects every child's natural development, innate characteristics, and individual differences, and follows their pace of development based on the characteristics and developmental priorities of each age stage within the 0-3 years range. Adhering to the principles of the Pikler® respectful approach to infant and childcare, and upholding the integrated philosophy of the IB PYP Well-being Curriculum at WFLK, we have designed Orbi Mix-themed courses and Orbi Club activity courses. In an immersive bilingual environment, we inspire infants and toddlers to explore the world with curiosity and discover the charm of fields such as Visual Art, Music, Dance, Drama, Sensory, Science, Math, and Motor skills, fostering diverse ways of thinking.

Our Curriculum

Orbi Mix Bilingual Themed Courses

Tailored to the developmental characteristics of each stage, Shanghai World Foreign Language Early Childhood Development Center closely monitors every developmental milestone of children and establishes scientifically designed, stage-specific programs. The Orbi Mix bilingual themed courses include explorative courses (Little ExplOrer) and active courses (Little MOver), combining static and dynamic activities across diverse indoor and outdoor spaces to facilitate multidimensional perception and world exploration. Within relatively stable classes, children form a secure social circle, meeting common developmental needs of their age while respecting individuality and supporting close connections with parents. Additionally, there are four weeks of seasonal limited time courses each year, allowing children to experience the beauty of seasonal changes in nature and explore the diverse world.

Orbi Club

Combining 24 on-campus seasonal and festive activities, 6 off-campus study tours, and 4 super celebration events, Orbi Club courses form a vibrant exploration journey. We encourage each child to explore boldly, express freely, and grow happily with parents by their side, unlocking infinite possibilities.

Our Facility

This is the ideal space designed for children to learn and grow through play.

·The vibrant activity room, equipped with diverse large-scale installations in multiple zones, offers children an age-appropriate and enriching environment for physical activities. Through various movement patterns such as climbing, walking, running, jumping, and swinging, children can fully unleash their energy. This helps enhance physical abilities, and stimulate brain development, while joyfully exploring limitless possibilities.

·The multi-exploration room, scientifically designed to include different functional areas: Circle Time, Free Living Area, Orbi Library, Creative Construction Area, Natural Sensory Area, SEL Area (Social and Emotional Learning), and Pikler Free Motor Development Area. These areas meet children's multifaceted developmental needs, protecting their innate curiosity and thirst for knowledge, and providing an inspiring and creative environment.

·In the children's playground, children enjoy thrilling slides and the joy of ball pits. The outdoor interactive play area, featuring tree houses, large slides, mole tunnels, and trampolines, encourages physical exercise and imagination. The creek splash area offers opportunities for close contact with nature, stimulating curiosity and exploration.

Our Team

The team of Chinese and foreign instructors at Shanghai World Foreign Language Early Childhood Development Center (WFLK ECDC) is 100% qualified with bachelor's degree or higher. They also hold official training certificates from the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO), and possess certification from the U.S. Program for Infant/Toddler Care (PITC). The Chinese instructors are 100% fluent in bilingual teaching. Additionally, some instructors hold professional certifications in psychological counseling, ECSTEM (Early Childhood Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), art education, English language teaching, and family education.

With an average of 8 years of teaching experience in parent-child courses, our team has accumulated extensive experience in respectful and responsive interactions with infants and toddlers, supporting infant and toddler development, and enhancing the quality of parent-child interactions. Our instructor team is committed to fostering a positive view of children, education, and values, and aims to establish meaningful connections with more infants, toddlers, and families through a passion for education, advanced parenting philosophies, and strong teaching expertise.
