官宣!杭州世外正式获得国际文凭组织中学项目IB MYP授权!

近日,杭州世外收到来自国际文凭组织(IBO)的官方确认,杭州世外正式成为国际文凭组织Middle Years Programme(MYP)中学项目授权学校!这标志着杭州世外实现IB全学段贯通,从小学 PYP 到高中 DP,再到如今的初中 MYP,完整的 IB 教育体系正式成型,为学子搭建起贯通 12 年的国际化成长通道。

Recently, WFL Hangzhou received official confirmation from the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) that our school has been formally authorized to offer the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP)! This milestone signifies the completion of our full IB continuum, spanning from the Primary Years Programme (PYP) in primary school to the Diploma Programme (DP) in high school, and now the MYP in middle school. This comprehensive IB educational framework has been formally established, creating a seamless 12-year pathway for students to pursue their international education journey.

国际文凭组织(IBO)创立于 1968 年,是经联合国教科文组织注册的非营利国际教育基金会,是国际教育的全球领导者,致力于培养具有探究精神、知识渊博、自信且富有同情心的青年。IBO的课程赋予学龄学生自主学习的能力,帮助他们掌握面向未来的技能,从而在瞬息万变的世界中创造价值并蓬勃发展。

The International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO), established in 1968, is a non-profit international educational foundation registered with UNESCO. As a global leader in international education, it is dedicated to developing inquisitive, knowledgeable, confident, and compassionate young people. The IBO's programs empower students to learn independently, equipping them with future-oriented skills to create value and thrive in a rapidly changing world.

IBO 的教育愿景,是让每一位学习者都能成长为 “勇于探究、知识渊博、富有同理心” 的个体 —— 他们既能扎根本土文化,又能以开放的心态理解世界,最终通过跨文化的对话与协作,为构建更和平的全球社区贡献力量。这与杭州世外“积极参与,努力实践”(简称“P&P”,Participation&Practice)作为核心教育理念的办学理念高度契合,也是学校坚持推进 IB 课程体系的核心动力。

The IBO's educational vision is for every learner to grow into an individual who is “inquisitive, knowledgeable, and compassionate”—rooted in their local culture yet open-minded about the world, ultimately contributing to a more peaceful global community through cross-cultural dialogue and collaboration. This vision aligns perfectly with WFL Hangzhou's educational philosophy centered on “Participation & Practice” (P&P), serving as the core driving force behind the school's commitment to advancing the IB curriculum.

MYP(中学项目)是 IBO 为 11-16 岁初中生设计的综合性课程,不同于传统初中课程,MYP是一个具有挑战性的教学框架,旨在鼓励学生将所学知识与现实世界建立实际联系。

The MYP (Middle Years Programme) is a comprehensive curriculum designed by the IBO for students aged 11 to 16. Unlike traditional middle school curricula, the MYP is a challenging educational framework that encourages students to establish practical connections between their learning and the real world.

MYP以 “概念驱动” 为核心,强调学科间的关联与现实问题的结合,让学习不再是孤立的知识记忆,而是解决问题、探索世界的过程。

The MYP centers on a “concept-driven” approach, emphasizing interdisciplinary connections and real-world relevance. It transforms learning from isolated knowledge memorization into a process of problem-solving and exploring the world.

MYP框架包含八个学科组,为初入青春期的青少年提供广泛而均衡的教育,MYP要求在课程的每个学年,每个学科组至少安排50个教学时数。在课程的最后两年,经过精心设计的学科组灵活性安排,使学生能够满足当地要求并达成个人学习目标。

The MYP curriculum framework comprises eight subject groups, providing adolescents entering adolescence with a broad and balanced education. The MYP requires a minimum of 50 instructional hours per subject group each academic year. During the final two years of the programme, carefully designed subject group flexibility enables students to meet local requirements and achieve personal learning goals.

“服务与行动”(Service as Action)一直是IB社区的共同价值观。当学生在课堂内外应用所学知识时,他们会采取行动。IB 学习者努力成为社区中充满爱心的成员,表现出对服务的承诺——为他人的生活和环境带来积极的影响。

Service as Action has always been a shared value within the IB community. When students apply their learning both inside and outside the classroom, they take action. IB learners strive to become caring members of their communities, demonstrating a commitment to service—making a positive impact on the lives of others and the environment.

在 MYP 的框架下,课程涵盖八大学科领域:语言与文学、语言习得、数学、科学、个体与社会、艺术、体育与健康教育、设计。同时,通过 “全球背景”将各学科串联,引导学生从更广阔的视角思考问题,让知识真正服务于现实认知。

Within the MYP framework, the curriculum encompasses eight subject areas: Language and Literature, Language Acquisition, Mathematics, Science, Individuals and Societies, Arts, Physical and Health Education, and Design. Simultaneously, the “Global Context” integrates these subjects, guiding students to consider issues from a broader perspective and enabling knowledge to truly serve real-world understanding.

此外,MYP 独有的 “服务与行动”要求,鼓励学生将课堂所学转化为实践:参与社区公益、组织环保活动、设计帮扶项目…… 在行动中培养责任感与协作能力,这正是杭州世外初中阶段 “价值观塑造” 与 “能力培养” 的关键所在。

Furthermore, the MYP's unique “Service as Action” requirement encourages students to translate classroom learning into practice: participating in community service, organizing environmental initiatives, designing support projects... Through action, students cultivate a sense of responsibility and collaborative skills—the very essence of WFL Hangzhou's “values shaping” and “capability development” during the middle school years.

构建完整的知识体系:八大学科覆盖人文、科学、艺术、体育等领域,既保证知识的广度,又通过 “学科探究单元” 深化学习深度,避免初中阶段 “偏科” 风险;

Building a comprehensive knowledge framework: Eight subject areas spanning humanities, sciences, arts, physical education, and more ensure breadth of learning while deepening understanding through “Thematic Units of Inquiry,” thereby mitigating the risk of subject imbalance during middle school.

培养核心竞争力:通过 “探究式学习”“项目式任务”,学生将逐步掌握批判性思维、自主研究、团队协作等能力 —— 这些能力不仅是应对高中 DP 课程的基础,更是未来适应社会的 “核心素养”;

Cultivating Core Competencies: Through inquiry-based learning and project-based tasks, students will progressively master critical thinking, independent research, and teamwork skills—capabilities that not only form the foundation for tackling the DP curriculum in high school but also serve as essential competencies for future societal adaptation.

提升跨文化理解力:在语言习得课程中,学生不仅学习外语,更会接触不同国家的文化习俗;在 “全球背景” 主题探究中,他们会倾听多元视角,学会尊重差异、包容不同;

Enhancing Cross-Cultural Understanding: In language acquisition courses, students not only learn foreign languages but also engage with the cultural customs of different countries. Through thematic explorations in a “global context,” they listen to diverse perspectives, learning to respect differences and embrace diversity.

衔接未来升学路径:完成 MYP 课程的学生,将更顺利地适应高中 DP 课程的学习节奏与评估体系,同时其培养的综合能力,也受到国内外优质高中与大学的广泛认可。

Seamless Transition to Future Academic Pathways: Students completing the MYP program will adapt more smoothly to the pace and assessment system of the DP program in high school. The comprehensive competencies they develop are also widely recognized by top-tier high schools and universities both domestically and internationally.
