在这个充满智慧与激情的初冬时节，上海世外教育集团以“诗歌中的中国”（Enchanting China in Poetry）为主题的第七届英语节（小学段），在合肥世外学校小学部的精心筹备下，缓缓拉开帷幕。这不仅是一场语言的盛宴，更是一次文化的交融与碰撞，展现了世外学子们深厚的文化底蕴和国际视野。

In this early winter full of wisdom and passion, the seventh English Festival of Shanghai World Foreign Language Education Group (Primary School) with the theme of ‘Enchanting China in Poetry’ was slowly opened under the careful preparation of the Primary Department of Hefei Shanghai World Foreign Language School. This is not only a language feast, but also a cultural fusion and collision, showing the deep cultural heritage and international vision of WFL students.

11月29日，周五的上午，在这个特别的日子里，来自集团直属校和托管校的33所学校，通过线上平台，跨越地域的限制，共同呈现了一场精彩纷呈的诗歌盛宴。四个篇章，如同一幅幅精美的画卷，缓缓展开：

On Friday morning, 29th November, on this special day, a total of 33 schools, comprising both direct and trustee members of the group, through the online platform and across geographical boundaries, jointly presented a splendid poetry feast. Four chapters, like a beautifully crafted scroll, slowly unfolded:

Charm of Tang Poetry（唐韵流芳）：唐代的诗歌，如同璀璨的星辰，照亮了中华文化的夜空。宁波上海世外学校、上海市宝山区顾村实验学校等校的学生们，用他们稚嫩而坚定的声音，演绎了《将进酒》的豪迈与不羁，仿佛让我们穿越千年，与李白共饮那杯人生的美酒。

The poems of the Tang Dynasty, like bright stars, have illuminated the night sky of Chinese culture. Students from and Shanghai Baoshan District Gucun Experimental School used their tender but firm voices to interpret the boldness and uninhibitedness of ‘Invitation to Wine’, as if letting us travel through the millennium and drink that cup of life with Li Bai.

Elegance of Song Ci（宋词雅韵）：宋代词人笔下的细腻与温婉，在孩子们的演绎下得到了完美的诠释。苏轼的《水调歌头》，以其深邃的情感和悠扬的韵律，成为了多个学校选择的经典。孩子们的歌声，如同宋词中的一缕清风，拂过心田，留下无尽的回味。

The subtlety and gentleness of the Song Dynasty lyricist's writing was perfectly interpreted by the children. Su Shi's ‘Prelude to Water Melody’, with its deep emotions and melodious rhythms, has become a classic chosen by several schools. The children's songs, like a breeze from the Song, brushed through their hearts and left an endless aftertaste.

New Tune of Modern Poetry（近诗新韵）：近现代的诗歌，带着新时代的气息，诉说着不一样的情感与梦想。上海奉贤区世外学校的《颂祖国，我奋斗！》、上海世外教育附属宝山大华实验学校的《祖国啊，我亲爱的祖国》等作品，用英语表达了对祖国的热爱与憧憬，展现了新时代青少年的责任与担当。

Recent modern poetry, with the breath of a new era, speaks of different emotions and dreams.  ‘Love China, I strive!’by Fengxian World Foreign Language School   and ‘My homeland, my dear homeland’ by Baoshan Dahua Experimental School Affiliated to WFL Education expressed their love and longing for the motherland in English, and showed the responsibility and bearing of the youth in the new era.

Tideway of Transcendent Poetry（跨世诗潮）：这一篇章，孩子们跨越时空的界限，与古今中外的诗人对话。温州上海世外学校的《诗歌中的家国情怀》、上海世外附属台州市月湖学校的《穿越时空，对话先贤》等作品，用英语讲述中国故事，传递了跨越时代的诗意与智慧。

In this chapter, children crossed the boundaries of time and space to dialogue with poets from ancient and modern times. Works such as ‘The Feelings of Family and Country in Poetry’ by Wenzhou Shanghai World Foreign Language School and ‘Travel Through Time and Dialogue with Ancient Sages’ by Taizhou Yuehu School Affiliated to WFL Education told Chinese stories in English, conveying poetry and wisdom across the ages.

线下专场：欢聚一堂，共赏诗韵

Offline Session: Getting Together to Enjoy Poetry

同天下午，合肥世外学校的校园里，阳光明媚，鸟语花香。第七届上海世外教育集团英语节（小学段）线下专场在这里隆重举行。包河区教师发展中心副主任陈福秋先生、英语教研员刘云霄女士、世外教育集团教师发展中心副主任叶岚女士及世外教育集团研学活动中心主任陆喆先生等嘉宾的到来，为活动平添了几分庄重与热烈。尤为值得一提的是，本次活动破除了校园的界限，向全合肥市的英语教师及家长代表敞开了大门，共同见证这一场文化与语言的盛宴，展现了世外教育集团开放包容的教育情怀。

On the afternoon of the same day, the campus of Hefei Shanghai World Foreign Languae School was bright with sunshine and birdsong. The seventh English Festival of Shanghai World Foreign Language Education Group (Primary School) Offline Session was held here. The arrival of Chen Fuqiu, Deputy Director of Teacher Development Center of Baohe District, Liu Yunxiao, English teaching researcher at the Teacher Development Center of Baohe District, Ye Lan, Deputy Director of the Curriculum Development Center of the WFL Education Group, Lu Zhe, Director of the Group's Research and Study Activity Center, added a bit of solemnity and warmth to the event. It is especially worth mentioning that this event broke the boundaries of the campus and opened the door to all the English teachers and parent representatives in Hefei to witness this cultural and linguistic feast, showing the open and inclusive educational sentiment of Shanghai World Foreign Language Education Group.

上海世外教育集团总裁徐俭先生在致辞中强调：“学英语是为了交流，是为了把世界上先进的文化和知识引入中国，同时也把中国美好的文化和传统介绍给世界。”他的话语，如同一盏明灯，照亮了孩子们前行的道路，也点燃了他们心中的文化自信。

Mr Xu Jian, president of World Foreign Language Education Group, emphasised in his speech that ‘learning English is for communication, it is to introduce the world's advanced culture and knowledge into China, and at the same time to introduce China's beautiful culture and tradition to the world.’ His words, like a bright light, illuminated the children's way forward and ignited the cultural confidence in their hearts.

包河区教师发展中心英语教研员刘云霄女士于世外教育集团第七届英语节活动中发表感言：“参加世外教育集团第七届英语节活动，在这个充满活力与创意的学生活动盛会中，大家以诗歌中的中国为主题，借助戏剧表演的形式，踏上探索中华优秀传统文化中经典的奇妙之旅。让我们通过经典的声音，感受中国文化的魅力。”

Ms Liu Yunxiao, English teaching researcher at the Teacher Development Center of Baohe District , delivered a speech at the 7th English Festival of the World Wide Education Group: ‘In the 7th English Festival of the World Wide Education Group, in this energetic and creative event for students, we all embarked on a wonderful journey to explore the classics of the outstanding traditional Chinese culture with the theme of China in Poetry and with the help of theatre performances. Let's experience the classics through the sound of the classics. Let's experience the charm of Chinese culture through the sound of classics.’

合肥世外学校小学部校长胡昕女士用中英双语宣布了本届英语节的开启。她的话语中充满了对孩子们的期待与鼓励：“诗歌作为人类共同的语言，它超越了国家与文化的界限。用英语读中国诗歌，讲中国故事，就是鼓励同学们在这个全球化的时代，通过英语这一国际语言把中国的文化与世界分享。”

Ms Hu Xin, Principal of the Primary Department of Hefei World Foreign Language School, announced the opening of this year's English Festival in both Chinese and English. Her words were full of expectations and encouragement for the children: ‘Poetry, as the common language of mankind, transcends the boundaries of countries and cultures. Reading Chinese poems and telling Chinese stories in English is to encourage students to share Chinese culture with the world through the international language of English in this era of globalisation.’

接下来的表演，更是将现场的气氛推向了高潮。合肥世外学校四年级学生的《桃花源之谊》，用英文演绎了唐代诗人笔下的友谊与忠诚；合肥世外四年级学生吴奕霏的英文版《将进酒》，让在场的每一个人都感受到了李白诗歌的魅力；合肥世外五年级学生的《六尺巷》，则用英语讲述了清朝时期的一个关于宽容与礼貌的故事，让人深受启发。合肥世外可爱的二年级学生们将要用他们美妙的声音为我们展现了《我们的祖国是花园》。

The next performances brought the atmosphere to a climax. The ‘The Bonds at Peach Blossom Pool’ by Grade 4 students from the Primary Department of Hefei Shanghai World Foreign Language School (HFWFLS) interpreted in English the friendship and loyalty written by the poet of the Tang Dynasty; the English version of ‘Invitation to Wine’ by Wu Yifei, a Grade 4 student of HFWFLS, made everyone present feel the charm of Li Bai's poetry; and the ‘six-foot alley’ by Grade 5 students of Hefei Shanghai World Foreign Language School (HFWFLS) recounted in English a story of the Qing Dynasty period about tolerance and politeness in English, which was very inspiring. Our lovely Year 2 students from Hefei Shanghai World Foreign Language School are going to present ‘Our Country is a Garden’ with their beautiful voices.

此外，杭州上海世外学校的《杭州少年》、青年路小学的《花木兰》、上海金山区世外学校的《如果我是一个诗人》以及合肥世外六年级学生的《延乔路——人生自古谁无死，留取丹心照汗青》等剧目，也都以其独特的视角和深刻的内涵，赢得了在场观众的阵阵掌声。

In addition, the plays ‘Hangzhou Youth’ by Hangzhou Shanghai World Foreign Language School, ‘Mulan’ by Qingnianlu Primary School, ‘If I Were a Poet’ by Jinshan World Foreign Language School, and ‘Yanqiao Road——Whose Lives will burn out Beliefs never fade away’ by the sixth-grade students of Hefei Shanghai World Foreign Language School also won the applause of the audience with their unique perspectives and profound The plays also won the applause of the audience with their unique perspectives and profound connotations.

Ms Ye Lan, Deputy Director of the Curriculum Development Center of the WFL Education Group, expressed her heartfelt thanks to the teachers and students of Qingnianlu Primary School for their participation from afar, and highly praised the children for the wonderful performance they brought today. She stressed that the children's participation not only added rich colours to the event, but also built a bridge to promote friendly exchanges and in-depth cooperation among schools.
