Shanghai Qingpu World Foreign Language Kindergarten is the first directly affiliated kindergarten established by Shanghai JuneYao World Foreign Language Education Technology (Group) Co., Ltd, an affiliate of the JuneYao Group. It is part of the same Education Group as Shanghai World Foreign Language Academy, Shanghai World Foreign Language Primary School, and other World Foreign Language Schools in Qingpu, Jiading, Jinshan, and Baoshan districts of Shanghai.

Shanghai World Foreign Language Early Childhood Education (WFLK) is committed to developing a diverse operational matrix with kindergarten operation as the core, incorporating horizontal integration and vertical specialization. Under WFLK’s guidance and support, Shanghai Qingpu World Foreign Language Kindergarten adheres to national policies and early childhood education industry standards, following the philosophy of Well-being Education. It gradually forms a new pattern of integrated childcare services for children aged 0 to 6.

Shanghai Qingpu World Foreign Language Kindergarten opened its gate in September 2017. February 14, 2020, WFLK Qingpu successfully obtained authorization for the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP), officially becoming a member of the IB World School community. In 2021, it became a member of Chong Wa International Baccalaureate Schools Association (CISA), and in 2023, it successfully completed Shanghai High-Quality Kindergarten evaluation.

WFLK Qingpu Nursery Division commenced operations in September 2020. It aligns with the "IB PYP Integrated Well-being Curriculum" goal system and consistently adheres to the educational philosophy of "Emotions First, Integrated Education and Care, Respect for Natural Development, Individualized Approach, and Home-School Collaboration," providing high-quality, refined care and education services for children aged 0-3.

Kindergarten DivisionNursery Division

「1 Curriculum」
Based on the IB PYP transdisciplinary inquiry-based learning, this program is delivered through full-day immersive bilingual teaching by both Chinese and international homeroom teachers. The curriculum aims to cultivate children's understanding of diverse cultures and a global perspective through Daily Life Skills, Healthy Exercise, and Joyful Play.

Through games and open learning spaces, and by offering activities such as Reading Club, Art Club, Science Club and Sand Play Therapy Club, etc., the curriculum supports the autonomous, creative, and individualized development of young children.

Since its opening in September 2020, the Nursery Division of WFLK Qingpu has followed and complied with the national and local Shanghai standards for development and support strategies for children aged 0-3. It integrates the Pikler® respectful approach to infant and childcare, connects with the "Well-being Integration Curriculum" goal system, and always adheres to the educational philosophy of "Emotions First, Integrated Education and Care, Respect for Natural Development, Individualized Approach, Home-School Collaboration". Ultimately, it has formed a localized Well-being Curriculum for the 0-3 age group.

The Nursery Division's curriculum creates a multicultural atmosphere through a supportive environment, responsive care, conceptual enlightenment, and a broad learning community. It allows children to learn with interest in English and Chinese thematic inquiries, to play joyfully in free exploration, thereby gaining a sense of security and happiness, and obtaining valuable educational experiences, and to have their physical and psychological needs respected and met with care in daily routine, providing high-quality, refined care and education services for children aged 0-3. With individualized support, it cares for every infant and toddler, allowing them and their caregivers to enjoy a safe, orderly, uniquely crafted, warm, and loving new space beyond "home".

The campus of the Kindergarten Division boasts a building area of nearly 6,000 square meters and an outdoor activity area of 1700 square meters. ·Rainbow Park|Desert Oasis|Architectural Corridor,An adventurous playground designed as a situational sports environment, featuring grid structures, climbing frames, foil houses, bamboo ladders, and large dragon balls. Together, they create a "fantastic journey" where children can " climb over mountains and valleys" and feed the little rabbits. This provides young children with a challenging and fun-filled sports environment.


The new campus of the Nursery Division spans a total area of nearly 5,000 square meters. Developed by the Shanghai World Foreign Language Education Group as a substantial investment, the campus benefits from self-owned land and enjoys significant advantages in resources, funding, and other infrastructural aspects.

The entire campus is themed around a "forest", with every design element incorporating aspects of the forest. It features canopies, natural wood, and other design elements, complemented by soft tones in forest color schemes. This creates an environment where children can learn and grow embraced by nature.

·The KA Activity Room simulates an open area in the forestproviding ample space for free exploration and interaction.

·The Multifunctional Activity Room ,is equipped with the necessary teaching tools and scenographic settings for specialized courses such as fun movement, joyful dance, delightful art, and cooking/baking. Each movement resonates with the melody of the wind, each piece of artwork reflects the colors of the forest, and each culinary activity incorporates the gifts of nature, allowing children to understand the world through exploration.

·The Emotion Reading Area,with its streamlined steps and fully cushioned seating, mimics sitting on soft grass. It offers an immersive, autonomous reading space where every turn of a page is a new exploration.

·The Sensory Room,is designed with areas for light, shadow, sand, and water, initiating a journey of the senses closely connected to nature. Here, children can experience the dance of light and shadow, feel the fine texture of sand, and listen to the flow of water.

·The Indoor Sensory Integration ,Area simulates forest trees and branches, equipped with climbing walls, hammocks, swings, and more. Each climb and swing enhance children's physical coordination and balance.

·The LEGO Interactive Wall,encourages children to make friends and train hand-eye coordination through building.

·The Free Drawing Wall ,allows children to use colors and lines to depict the world. Every drawing and creative act is an exploration of their innate artistic expression.

·The Sand and Water Area combines both elements,allowing children to experience the sensation of sand flowing through their fingers and water rippling in their hands, fully enjoying the wonders of natural touch.

·The Outdoor Interactive Play Area is equipped with a treehouse,large slides, mole tunnels, trampolines, and more. Children can transform into little forest elves, experiencing the joy of weaving through the woods.

·In the Stream Play Area,children can feel the coolness of flowing water and the vitality of life as they play.

·Each class has its own dedicated planting area,where children can sow seeds, water, and fertilize, observing the process from seed to maturity and experiencing the miracle of nature's cycle and growth.

·In the Edible Garden Area,children can pick fresh vegetables, herbs, and fruits, feeling the change of seasons and discovering the beauty and wonder of nature.

Each class is equipped with four professional teachers, including one full-time international homeroom teacher, one Chinese homeroom teacher majoring in preschool education, one Chinese teacher with strong English education background, and one life teacher. This setup ensures children are immersed in an authentic bilingual environment. Additionally, there are single-subject teachers for reading, psychology, science, art, dance, and sports. All teachers undergo unified training and placement by the Shanghai World Foreign Language Early Childhood Education, along with pertinent professional qualifications to fully ensure a high-quality teaching team.

The Nursery Division's KA classes are staffed with a configuration of three homeroom teachers and one life teacher, while the KN classes have two homeroom teachers and two life teachers. Each class is equipped with one full-time international homeroom teacher, one full-time Chinese English teacher, and one Chinese homeroom teacher majoring in preschool education, providing infants and toddlers with an authentic immersive bilingual environment. Considering the age characteristics of the toddlers, the Nursery Division specially hires homeroom teachers and life teachers with intermediate to senior infant care qualifications, as well as international teachers with experience in teaching young infants and toddlers. The teaching team is 'meticulous in thought', 'meticulous in action', and 'meticulous in communication'. They focus on integrating care and education to comprehensively nurture the physical and mental health of the toddlers in their care.
