今年的NEC 2024全国战比赛现场汇集了全国600支参赛队伍,每支队伍由2-4名成员组成,我校学子们不仅与来自上海其他学校的学生们竞争,还与全国最顶尖学校的学生们同台竞技,争夺最终的奖项。
NEC National Round 2024 had 600 teams from all over China, each team consisting of 2-4 members. Our students not only competed with students from other schools in Shanghai, but also competed with students from the top schools in China.

在耀眼成绩的背后,是师生的共同努力和高质量课程的支持。经济组老师和学生们通过课上和课后辅导,梳理知识点,提高解题能力以及定期模考等方式准备竞赛。
Behind the outstanding achievements are the efforts of teachers and students, as well as the support of high-quality curriculum. Teachers of Economics Department prepare for competitions during class and tutoring after class by sorting out knowledge points, improving problem-solving skills, and mock exams.
我校经济学课程旨在培养学生对经济学的兴趣和热情,帮助学生理解经济学对全社会的贡献以及了解经济学的应用和学科发展现状,更重要的是培养学生发现问题、解决问题和批判性思维能力。
Economics course aims to cultivate students' interest and passion for economics, help them to understand the contribution of Economics to the whole society, understand the application and development status of Economics, and the most important is to cultivate their ability to discover problems, solve problems and critical thinking.

The NEC has brought me a lot of benefits, especially the opportunity to apply the economic knowledge I learned, and use this knowledge and team efforts to strive for personal and school honors.
I found that my understanding and skills in Economics have greatly improved by participate in NEC. During the competition, our team needs to use the Economic theories and concepts learned in class to analyze and solve Economic problems in real life (this time the impact of AI on the labor market). This practical learning not only deepened my understanding of the principles of Economics, but also improved my abilities in academic writing and searching for information.
As Charles Darwin said ‘the survival of the fittest does not belong to the strongest nor the most intelligent, but to those most responsive to change”. Myself and my team underwent many changes in the last months. We learned theories, concepts and through our changes we gained skills in analysis and evaluation to give us ability to use our knowledge because the learning was highly practical. Changes also manifested in my academic writing and my research ability.
In addition, the NEC has had a positive effect on my performance. Many excellent students from all over China participated in the NEC, so I know that only by actively studying and practicing exercises can we have the opportunity to achieve something in NEC. During the entire process I spent a lot of time studying, reviewing, and organizing vast web of knowledge required by the competition. A large number of economic knowledges are unfamiliar to me, so it takes even more time.
The NEC also changed my performance. We responded to the challenge of matching our economics fieldcraft against theirs. I learned to be more strategic in the way I organized, classified and reviewed information. I changed by gaining new knowledge about economics that was wholly unknown to me.
When I finally won the gold award on the national round, I felt a great sense of achievement and satisfaction. Achievement comes from the pride of being able to stand out among outstanding students nationwide, while satisfaction comes from the joy of receiving rewards and recognition for my efforts.

竞赛简介
NEC全美经济挑战赛是由美国经济教育学会CEE主办的一项具有悠久历史的中学生经济学术活动,NEC的赛事内容主要包含三个方面:微观经济学、宏观经济学、国际经济与时事。NEC除了考察专业知识外,还侧重于考察学生审辩性思维、团队协作能力和临场应变能力等综合能力。
每年有近300所顶尖中学超数千名优秀学子参与到NEC比赛中,其中不少学子通过比赛对于经济学知识的提升以及审辩性思维的锤炼后,成功被世界各大知名学府的相关专业录取,如斯坦福大学、耶鲁大学、哥伦比亚大学、康奈尔大学、剑桥大学、牛津大学、纽约大学、伦敦政治经济学院等。

NEC Introduction
NEC Economic Challenge is an academic event organized by the American Institute of Economic Education (CEE). The competition mainly includes three aspects: Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, International economics and current affairs. In addition to examining professional knowledge, NEC also focuses on students' comprehensive abilities such as critical thinking, teamwork ability, and on-site adaptability.
Every year, over thousands of outstanding students from nearly 300 top high schools participate in NEC competitions. Many of these students have been successfully accepted by top Universities, such as Stanford University, Yale University, Columbia University, Cornell University, Cambridge University, Oxford University, New York University, The London School of Economics and Political Science and so on.
The NEC National Economic Challenge consists of three rounds, three divisions, and four challenges
Three rounds: Regional Round, National Round, and Global Round
Three divisions: Pre Division, David Ricardo Division, Adam Smith Division
Four challenges: QUALIFYING TEST, CRITICAL THINKING, SUPER ECON and QUIZ BOWL
